Wayne Ruechel Funeral Rites
Are Held On December 22 [1987]
at St. Ansgar First Lutheran

Funeral services for Wayne Allen Ruechel, 63, of St. Ansgar, who died Saturday, December 19, 1987 at his home, were held Tuesday, December 22, 1987 at St. Ansgar First Lutheran Church with the Reverend Thomas Hughes and the Reverend Stephen Engelstad officiating.

Mr. Ruechel was born November 17, 1924 in St. Ansgar, the son of Alvin and Josephine (Rosenberg) Ruechel. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar. He was graduated from Carpenter High School and Hamilton Business College, Mason City.

Mr. Ruechel served in the United States Army in Europe during World War II. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, and St. Ansgar Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, American Legion Post, was church treasure and director of Cedar National Bank. He was in the insurance, tax and real estate business in St. Ansgar for 40 years.

He is survived by his wife, Paulyn of St. Ansgar; a daughter, Suzette M. Blakestad of Shelby; three sons, Allen W. Ruechel of Clear Water, Florida, Kevin L. Stumpe and Philip P. Stumpe of Shakopee, Minnesota; his mother, Josephine Ruechel, St. Ansgar; two sisters, Lorraine Koster of St. Ansgar and Marlene Yost of LeRoy, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Burial was in First Lutheran Cemetery.
