Richard Chancellor Funeral Services Held December 14, St. Ansgar Methodist Church
Funeral services for Richard A. Chancellor, 70, of St. Ansgar, who died Friday, December 11 at a Rochester, Minnesota hospital, were held Monday, December 14 at St. Ansgar United Methodist Church with the Reverend J. William Jenkins officiating.
Mr. Chancellor was born May 21, 1917 in St. Ansgar, the son of Alva and Lulu Maude (Hickle) Chancellor. He married Mary Kruessel in Northwood September 2, 1948.
Mr. Chancellor was in the produce business from 1935 to 1957. In September of 1957 he became postmaster in St. Ansgar.
He was a member of the Walter T. Enneberg Post 358 of the American Legion and a member of the VFW in Osage. He was a World War II veteran serving from 1941 to 1945. He served on the St. Ansgar Fire Department for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of St. Ansgar; one son, Roger of Minneapolis, Minnesota, a brother, Robert Chancellor of St. Ansgar; a sister, Irma Chancellor of Nevada; two grandchildren.
Burial was in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.
