OSAGE, IOWA - Kelsi Mae Patterson, 9, died on Tuesday, May 4, 1999, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Toeterville, with the Rev. Daniel Wee and the Rev. Dr. David Palm officiating. Burial will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, 207 S. School St., St. Ansgar.
Kelsi Mae Patterson (Squirt) was born on March 18, 1990, in Osage. She was baptized at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Toeterville, on April 22, 1990. Kelsi was born with cardiomyopathy, and at the age of six, received a heart transplant through the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. She attended St. Ansgar Elementary School, and attended Sunday school at St. Peter Lutheran Church. Kelsi's favorite pastime was playing with and caring for her many pets, and talking on the phone and taking bubble baths. Kelsi's strong will and tender smile touched many hearts.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Max Patterson.
Kelsi is survived by her parents, Mike and Lisa Patterson of Osage; two brothers, Jeremy and Dustin of Osage; one sister, Mandy, of Osage; maternal grandparents, Ethel and David Lenz of St. Ansgar, and Lee and Donna Buchda of Fox Lake, Wis.; and paternal grandmother, Mildred Patterson, of St. Ansgar; and many aunts and uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Schroeder & Sites Funeral Chapel of St. Ansgar is in charge of arrangements.
