Harvey Tibbits Cancer Victim -- 1898-1957
Harvey Tibbits of McIntire, 59, died Tuesday at the Cedar Valley hospital in Charles City, a victim of cancer. He was a life-long Mitchell county resident. Funeral services for Mr. Tibbits will be held at the McIntire Methodist church.
Mr. Tibbits was born March** 19, 1898. The son of Mr. and Mrs. John Tibbits. Until 1920, he lived with his parents on their farm near Osage, and in that year, moved to McIntire to engage in farming.
In 1934, Mr. Tibbits married the former Genevieve Knight of LeRoy, Minn. Mrs. Tibbits died two years later. He married the former Nova Vandewalker of McIntire in 1940.
For the past 17 years, Mr. Tibbits had been an employee of the Oliver Corporation of Charles City, Prior to his death; he had undergone hospitalization at Rochester.
Survivors include his wife; five children, Mrs. John Michels of Osage, Linda, Dennis, Joan, and James of McIntire; two brothers Leslie and Harold, both of Osage, and three sisters, Ella Angell and Myrtle Tibbits, both of Osage, and Mrs. Ralph Sheldon of Waverly.

#2:McINTIRE, IOWA — Funeral services for Harvey Tibbits, 58***, who died Tuesday at the Cedar Valley hospital in Charles City of cancer, were held Thursday. Burial was in Wayne Cemetery near here.
Survived by his wife, six children, three sisters and two brothers.
