Osage, Iowa - Funeral rites will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Champion funeral home for John Suchy, 75, who died Friday at his farm home north of Osage.

Born July 16, 1873 in Bohemia, he came alone to Milwaukee, Wis. in 1893. In 1895 he came to near St. Ansgar. He married Josephine Specht at St. Ansgar, and the couple lived on a farm in Mitchell township, later purchasing in 1908 their own farm, where they had since lived.

The deceased had been in ill health for sometime.
Surviving him are his wife, son, Eugene, on the home farm, two grandchildren, and a sister, in Czechoslovakia. Preceding him were four brothers and two sisters.

FRIDAY AT HOME
AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Funeral services for John Suchy, 75, were held Sunday, May 29, 1949, at the Champion Funeral Home. Burial was made in the St. Ansgar cemetery. Mr. Suchy died Friday, May 27, 1949, at his home after a long illness.

John Suchy was born on July 16, 1873, at Tezskov, Bohemia. He was apprenticed as an iron molder after completing his elementary education. In May of 1893 he came to America, settling in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he was employed in his trade.

In 1805 he moved to St. Ansgar, where he started farming in partnership with his brother, Anton.

March 18, 1903, he was united in marriage to Josephine Specht. The couple established their first home on a farm in Mitchell township. In 1908 he purchased a farm where he lived until his death.

Mr. Suchy was a charter member of the White Rose Lodge of the Western Bohemian Fraternal Association. He took an active interest in all community affairs until ill health forced his retirement.

Surviving are his wife, one son, Eugene R., two grandchildren, Allan John and Ann Marie Suchy, and one sister in Czecho-Slovakia. Four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
