Laura Krogstad dies following long illness
OSAGE, IOWA — Mrs. Laura Krogstad, 80, died Tuesday at the Osage nursing home after an illness of three years. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Walter Gigstad will officiate. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery with Champion Funeral Home in charge.
Born as Laura Staff, Feb. 25, 1880, she was the daughter of Hans and Anna Staff, southwest of Osage. She was graduated from the Cedar Valley Seminary in Osage and was a rural school teacher.
She was married to Oscar Krogstad in 1903.
Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Harold (Alice) Witt, Osage; Miss Lorna Krogstad, Des Moines; Mrs. Bernice Anderson, Minneapolis; and Mrs. Carl (Sylvia) Duenow Jr., St. Ansgar; three sons: Orin, Lloyd and Glen, all of Osage; 14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a Mitchell County supervisor, three children, five brothers and sisters.
