63, of St. Ansgar
Died Last Tuesday*Funeral services for Mrs. Ernest Nelson, 63, of St. Ansgar, were held Saturday afternoon at First Lutheran church in St. Ansgar. The Rev. Donald Comnick, church pastor, was in charge. Burial was in the St. Ansgar cemetery. Mrs Nelson's funeral was postponed from Thursday because of bad weather.
Mrs Nelson died Thuesday at her farm home after an illness of several months. She suffered with a malignancy.
Laura Minnie Hackbarth was born in Mitchell county, August 23, 1902, the daughter of John and Martha Bartz Hackbarth. She was baptized at Emmanuel Lutheran church in Grafton by the Rev. John Landdeck Oct. 5, 1902, and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran church in St. Ansgar by the Rev. Paul Brammer.
She was married to Ernest Nelson Nov. 16, 1924, by the Rev. Mr. Brammer. They lived on farms near St. Ansgar all of their married life.
Mrs Nelson is survived by her husband Ernest, her mother, Mrs. Martha Hackbarth, and their two children; LaVerne of St. Ansgar and Mrs. Larry (Neva) Lunn of Charles City; five grandchildren, three brothers, Roy Hackbarth of Ogden, Iowa; Orie Hackbarth of Austin, Harland Hackbarth of St. Ansgar, and several nieces and nephews.
