Of Stacyville Died

Funeral services were held Monday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Meyer for Andrew
Hackenmiller, 75, who died March 17 at a Rochester hospital. He died of pnuemonia following a short illness which had confined him to the hospital for eight days. Prior to that time he had been at Falk Nursing home in Stacyville for three weeks.

The Rev. Father Joseph Vollmecke was in charge of the Requiem high mass and at burial services at Sacred heart cemetery. Hatten Funeral Home was in charge of burial.

Pallbearers were Ernest Hackenmiller, Herbert Merten, Tom Kramer, Harlan and James Smith and Stan Hackenmiller.

Andrew Hackenmiller was born July 2, 1889, in Stacyville township and attended the Meyer school. September 3, 1912, he was united in marriage to Anna Merten and together they began farming in the Meyer community. To them were born seven children, all of whom survive.
His wife preceded him in death Dec. 24, 1928.

He retired from farming in 1948 and since that time has been engaged in various construction work and made his home with his daughters in Illinois and in the Johnsburg area.

Survivors are his children, Hubert of Pavilion,N.Y.; Mrs. Paul Smith (Isabel) of Adams; Ray of Austin; Mrs. Clarence Miller (Magdalen) of Spring Grove, Ill.; Sister M. Quentin, OSF, (Mary Ann) teaching at Richardsville, Iowa, and Mrs. Elmo (Eleanor) Kramer of Ackley; 29 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
