RICEVILLE YOUTH SUCCUMBS IN LOCAL HOSPITAL AFTER MANLY CRASHThe body of Charles Moss, 19, who died Monday afternoon in a local hospital following injuries received in an accident near Manly, was taken to Osage to the Champion funeral parlors Monday. Moss did not regain consciousness since the accident which occurred Saturday and had suffered from severe concussion of the brain and fracture at the base of the skull.
Mrs. Elizabeth Moss, aunt of the youth, and Helen Herdman, about 18, who were in the car which struck a gravel car, were at a local hospital since the accident. Their condition was reported as fairly good by hospital authorities Tuesday.
The deceased boy's brother, Clifford Moss, auditor of Mitchell county, had been at Charles' bedside until is death.
The accident occurred at a highway intersection seven miles west of Manly. The Moss car was coming from the east and a gravel truck driven by Lyle Washburn, coming from the south, collided.
