Donald Louis Parks, 83, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away April 2, 2010, at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton, Iowa.

He was born on February 16, 1927, in Alexander, Iowa, to Wesley and Marjorie (Cross) Parks Sr. Donald graduated from Hampton High School after serving his country in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946. He was united in marriage to Fonda Mae Griner on January 2, 1948, in Austin, Minnesota.

At one time he co-owned and operated the El Rancho Inn of Hampton, Iowa. Donald was a carpenter and contractor for Parks Construction and he owned and operated Action Sports Center. He was a 60 year member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion. Donald enjoyed nature, woodworking, creative projects, reading, gardening and most of all his car rides in the country. He especially loved spending time with his family.

Donald is survived by his children: Randy (Debby) Parks of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Ron (Denise) Parks of Cedar Falls, Robby (George) Corum of Tama and Rocky Sprouse of Hampton; grandchildren: Ryan Parks, Dawn (Jon) Pittmann, Ben Parks, Rachel Johnson, Tom (Theresa) Parks and Josh Parks; great grandchildren: Riley, Aiden and Landon Johnson, Lily Montalvo and Asher Parks; siblings: Stan Parks of Des Moines, Wesley (Pauline) Parks Jr. of Sheffield, Maryanne Marchellino of Hampton and sister-in-law Marlys Parks of Charles City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Fonda Mae and brothers Bernard, Morris and Gene.

Donald Louis Parks was the son of Wesley Wilson Parks and Marjorie (Cross) Parks, both buried in Sacred Heart, Osage, Cemetery, and Grandson of Isreal Cross and Mary Ellen (Dellage) Cross (Sacred Heart, Osage) and William Gould Parks and Sarah Matilda (Wilson) Parks.
