OSAGE, IOWA - Marlys A. Wyborny Larson, 66, died Thursday (Nov. 9, 2000) at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
A funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Rock Creek Lutheran Church, 3269 Foothill Ave., Meroa, with the Rev. R. Dawson Tornes officiating. Interment will be in Rock Creek Cemetery in Meroa.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, 702 State St., Osage, and will resume one hour prior to services at the church Monday.

OSAGE - Marlys A. Wyborny Larson, 66, of Osage, died Thursday (Nov. 9, 2000) at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
Marlys was born on Aug. 7, 1934, in Mason City, the daughter of Kenneth and Dorothy (Wright) Wyborny. She attended elementary school in Mason City until 1945, when they settled on a farm near Rudd. She graduated from Rudd High School, attended Mason City Junior College, and received her teaching degree from Upper Iowa University.
She was united in marriage to Donald E. Larson June 7, 1955, at Rock Creek Lutheran Church in Meroa. Marlys taught for 36 years in Thompson, Orchard and Osage school districts. She retired in 1994 after touching many children's lives.
Marlys was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, Retired Teachers, Rachel Circle, Ladies Aid, was secretary for Aid Association for Lutherans and was co-chairman of the Rock Creek Lutefisk supper for several years. She was also involved in the restoration of the one-room Meroa schoolhouse.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing, baking Norwegian specialties and traveling.
The funeral will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, 3269 Foothill Ave., in Meroa, with the Rev. R. Dawson Tornes officiating. Interment will be in Rock Creek Cemetery in Meroa.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, 702 State St. in Osage, and one hour before services on Monday at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Larson, of Osage; daughter, Debra Sudol and her husband, Orlin, of Nashua; son, Dennis and his wife, Gayle, of Stewartville, Minn.; daughter, Lori Randall and her husband, David, of Osage; and a special Norwegian daughter, Heidi (Jacobsen) Stromsodd, from Sandefjord, Norway and her husband, Tore; grandchildren, Brad and Eric Sudol, Brian and Kelly Larson, Joshua, Ryan, Thomas and Tyler Randall, and Eivind and Hakon Stromsodd; a brother, Glen Wyborny and his wife, Doris, of Rudd; and a sister, Jean Navratil and her husband, Ronald, of Rockford.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
