Funeral services for Mrs. Henry E. Hanson, 79, who died at her home in St. Ansgar Thurday, February 23, 1961, were held Saturday, February 25 at the First Lutheran church here with the Rev. Don Hamilton officiating.

Mrs. Henry E. Hanson was born February 2, 1882 near Carpenter, Iowa to Julius and Minnie Sefert. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith.

On October 15, 1902 Ida was married to Henry E. Hanson at the Deer Creek Lutheran church near Carpenter. They lived in and near St. Ansgar all their 58 years of married life, with the exception of five years, when they farmed near Enderlin, North Dakota.

One son, Cyrus Hanson was born to this union.

Mrs. Hanson had been in ailing health for many years, and the past seven years she had been a bed patient at her home here. She bore the long sickness with Christian fortitute and was always cheerful and alert.

At midnight February 21 she suffered a stroke, and did not rally until her death. She passed away Thursday morning February 23, 1961 at the age of 79 years and 21 days.

The surviving members of her family are her husband Henry, one son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Hanson of Austin; two granddaughters, Twilla of Minneapolis and Linda at home; also several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, four sisters and one grandson.

The two remaining sisters are Mrs. Mary Lubiens of Minneapolis and Mrs. Alma Hamry, residing in Kindred, North Dakota.

Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery.
