Memorial services for Darwin Keith Sloan, age 81, of McIntire, Iowa, were held at 12 noon Sunday, November 10, 2002 at the Hindt-Hutchins Funeral Home in LeRoy, Minnesota. There was no reviewal. The body was cremated and burial was in the Wayne Cemetery following the service. Sloan died Thursday at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa.
Darwin Keith Sloan was born September 28, 1921 in Bailey, Iowa, to Ervin Sloan and Dathryn Papach Sloan. He worked as a construction supervisor.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Darwin's survivors include a daughter Leona (Roger) Rasmussen of Nora Springs, Iowa, son Roger (Cathy) Sloan of Atalissa, Iowa, daughters Charlene (Ken) West of Cedar Falls and Rose Hubler of Anamosa, Debra (Tim) Frame of Dewitt and son Dennis Sloan of Cedar Rapids, 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Muse Norris Hospice of North Iowa.
Hindt-Hutchins Funeral Home in LeRoy was in charge of arrangements.
