Funeral services for Theodore C. Hanson, who died at his home, St. Ansgar, on Monday, December 9, 1963 were held Wednesday, December 11 at the First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar with the Rev. Don Comnick officiating.
Theodore Chester Hanson was born March 4, 1909 at Farada, Minnesota, the son of Sefred and Cora Hanson. He was baptized and attended school in the Alexandria, Minnesota area where he spent the first thirty years of his life. In 1938 his mother died and in 1943 the family moved to a farm in Mitchell County, Iowa. In 1947 his father died and he continued to farm until 1958 at which time he was united in marriage with Glenda Ellingson on March 12 at Bethany, Missouri. They made their home in St. Ansgar where he was employed as a carpenter and also farmed.
He was a member of the Methodist Church until July 28, 1963, when he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith by Rev. Don Comnick. On December 9, 1963 he died of a heart attack at the age of 54 years, 9 months, and 5 days.
Surviving are his wife, Glenda; a step-daughter, Mrs. Delone Jensen; a granddaughter, Vickie Jensen; four brothers, Cecil, Alexandria, Minnesota; Harold and Don of Mason City and Lee of St. Ansgar, also six nieces and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Ruth Hanson and Vera (Mrs. Olaf Hundle).
Burial was in the First Lutheran Cemetery.
