Alex Schwab [1907-2001]

Funeral services were held Monday, June 4, 2001 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage, for Alex Schwab, age 93, of Osage. Father Philip Recker officiated and interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Osage.

Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, in charge of arrangements. Alex died Thursday, May 31, 2001 at Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center at Osage.

Alex was born December 10, 1907 in Seewald, Russia, the son of Peter and Anna (Frank) Schwab. As an infant, he moved with his family from Russia to the United States and they located in Osage. He was united in marriage to Ann Kloberdanz on February 1, 1932 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage. They have always lived at 1208 Walnut. Alex worked at the Gardners Nursery and as an auto mechanic. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister; and three brothers.

Those that survive him include his wife, Ann Schwab of Osage; three sons, Paul Schwab of Osage, Phil Schwab of Osage and children, Mike Schwab and wife, Katie and their children, Jacob, Morgan and Andrew; Mark Schwab; Julie Schwab and her fiance' Jay Marley and children, McKenzy and Avery; Doug Schwab; Ron Schwab and his wife, Elaine of Osage and their daughters, Kristy Miller and her husband, Kenn; Jessica Schwab; two sisters, Rose Morrison and her husband, Don of Osage; Katie Randall and her husband, Ramson of Cedar Rapids; three brothers, John Schwab, Jake Schwab and Adolph Schwab all of Osage.
