OBITUARY: Alfred Bernt Schoger, 1886-1928,
Alfred Bernt Schoger was born in Cedar Township, Mitchell County, Iowa, on December 13, 1886 to Andrew and Betsy Larson Schoger. All the days of his life were spent at his native home. He was baptized and confirmed in the Rock Creek Lutheran Church and has always been an active member.
During the earlier days of his life, he attended the rural schools of his district. On March 24, 1920, he entered into the holy state of matrimony with Miss Alice Havig of Osage, Iowa. In their wedlock, one child, Robert Alfred, was born.
Besides his wife and son, two sisters survive him: Mrs. Peter Paulson, of this community, and Mrs. Andrew Wamstad, of St. Paul, Minnesota.
The departed has been enjoying good health until about a year ago. On December 24, 1927, he was obliged to submit to an operation. Since that time his strength has gradually been vanishing and death ended his comparatively young life on June 29, 1928.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. O.C. Myhre in the Rock Creek Lutheran Church on July 2, 1928 at 2 p.m. Interment was made in the Rock Creek Lutheran cemetery.
