Russell I. Nelson, 1922-1995
OSAGE-- Russell I. Nelson, 73, died Tuesday (Dec. 12, 1995) at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Champion Funeral Home with the Rev. John Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery with military rites provided by the Osage American Legion Post 278.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society.
Russell I. Nelson was born June 23, 1922, near Woden, Iowa.
Survivors include one stepdaughter, Carol Janssen of Osage; two stepsons, Jerry Mayer of Winterset and Randy Meyer of Riceville; two sisters, Harriet Tokheim of Clarkfield, Minnesota, and Iris Champion of Owatonna, Minnesota; three brothers, Leon Nelson of Rockwell, Bernard Nelson of Glenville, Minnesota, and Merle Nelson of Ackley, Minnesota; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; three stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, one brother and one sister in infancy.
