Grace Decker, 1903-1997
TOETERVILLE, IOWA-- Grace Decker, 94, of St. Ansgar, formerly of Toeterville, died Monday, Oct. 6, 1997, at the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Toeterville with the Rev. David Palm officiating. Burial will be in Union Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Stacyville, Iowa.
Grace Decker was born on October 2, 1903, in Osage.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary D. Gannett of University Park, Maryland; two sons, Darrell Decker of San Diego, Calif., and Lester Decker of Osage; one brother, Kenneth St. Charles of Bella Vista, Ark.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother.
The Champion Funeral Home, Osage, is in charge of arrangements.

Found in the 1905 census living at Appleton, Swift, Minnesota: Oscar, Helena, Grace. Oscar working as an implement dealer.
Found in the 1910 census at Pierre, Hughes, South Dakota: Oscar Haugen 38, Helen Haugen 33, G Grace Haugen 6, Kenneth C Haugen 4, Emmett M Leverson 23, Oscar Leverson 21, Bert Gunderson 25.
Found in the 1920 census at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa: Oscar Haugen 47, Helen Haugen 42, Grace Haugen 16, Kenneth Haugen 14, Franklin Haugen 5.
Gertrude married Albert George Decker December 25, 1923 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa. The couple had 3 children.
Found in the 1925 - 1940 censuses at Union, Mitchell, Iowa:
1925: Bert G Decker 21, G Grace Decker 21.
1930: Bert G, Decker 26, Gertrude G. Decker 26, Darrell Decker 4 [4 10/12,] Lester Decker 3[3 2/12], Mary Decker 1[1 4/12].
1940: Bert G. Decker 36, Grace H. Decker 36, Darrell D. Decker 14, Lester G. Decker 13, Mary Helen Decker 11.
Gertrude died October 6, 1997 at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at Union Presbyterian Cemetery, Stacyville, Mitchell, Iowa.
