Alice L. Thompson Benttine 1910-2001
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 833 Ash Street, Osage, for Alice I. Benttine, age 91, of Osage. Rev. Dennis Hanson and Rev. Roy Ott officiated. Interment was in the Osage Cemetery. Alice died Saturday, November 3, 2001 at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, in charge of arrangements.
Alice was born July 6, 1910 to Ludvig and Inger (Motland) Thompson in Worth County, Iowa. On June 6, 1928 she was united in marriage to Carl Benttine in Mason City. She spent her entire life in Worth and Mitchell County in the Little Cedar area. After her husband’s death in 1951 she moved into Osage and spent the last 9 1/2 years as a resident of the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Carl; two brothers, Theodore Thompson and Elmer Thompson; three sisters, Tillie Ogaard, Bertha Christianson and Lena Young, and one grandson, Dennis Benttine in 1996.
Those that survive her include four sons, Clayton Benttine of Riceville, LeRoy Benttine and wife, Joanne of Stacyville, Lester Benttine and wife, Janice of Osage and Donald Benttine and wife Marianne of Osage; 11 grandchildren and one step-grandchild; 15 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchild; one sister Laura Bentten of Manly; one sister-in-law Mary Thompson of Mason City; and many nieces and nephews.
