William "Tom" Casey 1921-2002
Funeral services for William "Tom" Casey, 81 of Waterloo, formerly of New Haven were held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, Nov. 6 at St. Edward's Catholic Church. Burial was in the Waterloo Cemetery.
Military flag-folding rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 138 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1623. Casey died at home Friday, November 1, 2002.
William "Tom" Casey was born March 27, 1921 in Elma, a son of Frank and Florence Kane Casey. He married Mary Jane Kullen on July 31, 1948, in Waterloo. Casey served as a tech sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 40 years, retiring in 1982, then later worked at Greenwood Drug for 11 years.
Casey was preceded in death by a brother, James.
His Survivors include his wife, two brothers, Francis of Texas, Maurice "Dick" of Waterloo and a sister Patricia Lewis of Des Moines.
