Funeral Services for Henry Erbe Held Here Last Tuesday

Funeral services were held for Henry Erbe, 83, on Tuesday, March 25 at the Champion funeral home with the Rev. Wayne Christiansen in charge. Burial was made in the Osage cemetery. He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Earl Tubbs in Osage, on Saturday March 22.

Henry Erbe was born in Dane county, Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, on April 4, 1864. He came to Mitchell County in August 1888 and settled in Cedar Township. He was married in 1891 to Mary Gast and to this union were born nine children. Mr. Erbe was a member of the First Baptist church of Osage.

Surviving are his wife, eight children, Mrs. Gladys Tubbs and Harvey Erbe of Osage, John Erbe of Riceville, Carl Erbe of Mason City, Welcome Erbe of Houston Texas. Cora Williams of Caldwell, Idaho, Mary Peterson of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Iva Flatla of Plymouth; twenty-one grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Carrie Pahlmeyer in Madison, Wisconsin; and one brother, William in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin.

One son, Ira, preceded him in death in 1916.
