Funeral services will be conducted at the Deer Creek Lutheran church at Carpenter at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon for Mrs. Martha Golberg. Rev. O.A. Langehough is in charge of the obsequies. Burial will be in the First Lutheran cemetery.

Martha R. Peterson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Knut Peterson, was born at Columbia, Wisconsin, January 7, 1860 and died at her home at Carpenter, March 28, 1944 at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 21 days.

She came to St. Ansgar with her parents at the age of six years, moving to Emmet county, where they lived for nine years, returning to St. Ansgar when she was 15 years old.

She was baptized in the Lutheran faith and confirmed at Estherville, Iowa, later joining the Deer Creek Lutheran church at Carpenter, where she was a member up to four years ago when she transferred to St. Ansgar First Lutheran church.

On February 22, 1877, she was married to Colbern N. Golberg, of St. Ansgar, moving to a farm in Barton township, Worth county, Iowa. To them were born five sons, namely, Cornelius Golberg, Meltonville; Alfred Golberg, Mobridge, S.D.; Carl Golberg, Carpenter; Lewis who died at the age of 21 years, and Rudolph who died in infancy.

She leaves to mourn her passing, three sons, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
