St. Ansgar, Iowa- Funeral services were here Monday for Mrs. Adolph Groth 57, who died at Rochester Minn., Thursday, following short illness.

Nee Carrie Helen Tollefson, she was the daughter of A. K. and Belle Tollefson, She was born at Verdon, S.D., May 4, 1892 and graduated from Northern State Teachers college, Aberdeen, S.D. in 1914.

She taught school in South Dakota for a number of years and was married to Adolph S. Groth at St. Ansgar June 11, 1930. She became a member of First Lutheran church in 1946 and was president of Cemetery society at time of death. She was active in Music Mothers and American Legion auxiliary.

She leaves her husband, one son, Gaylord Lee; one daughter, Kathryn Ann; three brothers, Thomas Tollefson, Aberdeen, S.D; George Tollefson, Tampa, Ida.; Dick Tollefson, Mobridge, S. D.; five sisters; Mrs. Nellie Crandall, Boise, Ida.; Mary Tollefson, Chicago, Ill.; Ada Thompson, Faribault, Minn.; Mrs. Clara Kukor, Round Lake, Ill.; Mrs. Ruth Rymna, Warner, S. D.

MRS. ADOLPH GROTH
DIED IN HOSPITAL
AFTER SHORT ILLNESS

Funeral rites for Mrs. Adolph Groth, 57, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, were held Monday, Ocotber 10, 1949, at the First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar, with the Rev. O. Langehough officiating. Burial was made in the First Lutheran Cemetery. Mrs. Groth died Saturday, October 8, 1949, at a Rochester, Minnesota, hospital after a short illness.

Carrie Helen Tollefson was born on May 4, 1892, at Verdon, S. Dakota, to A.K. and Belle Tollefson. She was educated in the public schools of South Dakota and graduated from Northern State Teachers college at Aberdeen, South Dakota, in 1914, following which she taught school a number of years in South Dakota and Iowa.

She was married to Adolph S. Groth of St. Ansgar, on June 11, 1930. To this union two children were born, Gaylord Lee and Kathryn Ann. On December 8, 1946, Mrs. Groth was confirmed in the Lutheran faith and became a member of First Lutheran Church.

She was a member of the Ladies' Aid, Rebekah Circle, and at the time of her death, was president of the Cemetery Society. She was also active in Music Mothers and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband and two children, and the following sisters and brothers, Thomas C. Tollefson of Aberdeen, South Dakota, Mrs. Nellie Crandall of Boise, Idaho, George Tollefson of Tampa [SIC?], Idaho, Dick Tollefson of Mobridge, S. Dakota, Mary Tollefson of Chicago, Mrs. Ada Thompson of Faribault, Minn., Mrs. Clara Kukor of Round Lake, Illinois, and Mrs. Ruth Ryman of Warner, S. Dakota.
