MRS. AGNES NORTON OBITUARY

Greatly Loved New Haven Lady Laid to Rest Wednesday Morning of Last Week Mrs. Agnes Norton, a well loved woman of the New Haven community, died April 7, at 1:15 a. m. of pneumonia following a short illness, bringing deep sorrow to many relatives and friends.

Agnes McNelly was born July 4, 1856 in Alleghaney county, Maryland, to Patrick and Agnes McAnelly. In 1875 she came with her family to Iowa, locating at Fort Dodge. In 1881 she was married to Henry Norton. Three years later they located on a farm two miles east of New Haven, where she continued to reside until her death.

She was preceded in death by an infant son Joseph; her husband in 1909, and a son John in 1923.

She is survived by two daughters Mrs. Veronica Lentz of New Haven and Sr. Mary Fabian of Cedar Rapids; also three grandchildren Mildred, Robert and Joseph Lentz.

Beside the sorrowing children there remain two sisters, Miss Annie McAnelly and Mrs Frank Linhoff; and one brother, James McAnelly, all of Great Falls, Mont.

Funeral services were held at St. Peter's church, New Haven, Wednesday, conducted by Father Tibeau, and interment was in the nearby cemetery.
