John H. Madison, 1883-1911
Born June 21, 1883 - Died May 10, 1911
Mr. John H. Madison was born at Osage, Iowa, June 21, 1883, and died at St. Olaf's Hospital, Austin, Minnesota, Monday evening May 15, 1911. He was the youngest of eleven children, two of whom have preceded him to the grave.
He leaves a loving wife and aged mother to mourn the absence of a devoted husband and son. Also there remains two sisters, Mrs. Jasper Helm, of Osage, Iowa, and Mrs. Louie Helm of Plymouth, Iowa, and six brothers, Gilman, McClellan, and William of Osage, and Amos, Jesse and Jacob, who live at a distance and were unable to attend the funeral.
The funeral was held at the home of his brother, McCellan Madison, of this city, where the family and immediate friends listened to two sacred solos, rendered by Mrs. Roba Hammond Wayne and to the words of comfort spoken by the Rev. J. I. Bartholomew, pastor of the Universalist church.
The remains were laid to rest in our beautiful cemetery beside the grave of his father, who passed to the higher life some five years ago.
