Ruth Lydia Bertha Krueger, age 100, of Osage, died Thursday, March 11, 2010, at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2010, at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, 3269 Foothill Avenue, Osage, with Rev. R. Dawson Tornes officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Rock Creek Lutheran Church.
Ruth was born April 9, 1909, in Worth County, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Lydia (Bruesewitz) Kuntz. She married Albin Krueger on August 27, 1933, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton, Iowa. They farmed in the Grafton area until 1956 when they moved to a farm near Osage. Ruth was very family oriented and enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed family gatherings and vacationing with her family. Ruth had a strong faith in God.
Ruth is survived by one son, Donald (Rita) Krueger, Baudette, Minnesota; two daughters, Janice (Carroll) Nelson, Osage, Judeen (Tom Burgess) Hendrickson, Cowichan Bay, B.C., Canada; seven grandchildren, Dawn (Jean) Reinhart, Baudette, Minnesota, Scott (friend, Vicki Blake) Krueger, Baudette, Minnesota, Kelly (fiancé, Scott Mai) Krueger, Baudette, Minnesota, Denise (Michael) Gerdts, St. Ansgar, Coral (Douglas) Gerdts, Osage, Bethany (Brian) Marcks, Osage, Amy Nelson, Iowa City; nine great-grandchildren, Kyle Reinhart, Aaron Gerdts, Erik Gerdts, Garrison Gerdts, Logan Gerdts, Colton Gerdts, Carson Marcks, Addison Marcks, Haydon Marcks; three sisters, Ella Priem, St. Ansgar, Marcella Kuntz, Mason City, Lois (Clair) Westendorf, Des Moines; one brother, Gene (Arliene) Kuntz, St. Ansgar; and two sisters-in-law, Laura Kuntz, Northwood, and Harriet Kuntz, Mason City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albin Krueger in 1985; one granddaughter, Shauna Hendrickson; one son-in-law, Gene Hendrickson; two sisters, Pearl Rosenberg and Ethel Walk; three brothers, Earl Kuntz, Vernon Kuntz and Kermit Kuntz; one sister-in-law, Alice Kuntz; and three brothers-in-law, Glenn Priem, Elmer Rosenberg and Clarence Walk.
