Gustav Adolph Lunde, 1884-1967
Funeral services were held at Rock Creek Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon for a rural Nora Springs man, Gus Lunde, 82, who died Saturday at Mitchell County Memorial hospital in Osage. Mr. Lunde was confined to the hospital two weeks and his death was caused by a heart condition.
The Rev. Donald Berg, church pastor, was in charge of the services. C.R. Champion and Sons made arrangements and burial was at Rock Creek cemetery.
Gustav Adolph Lunde was born in Cedar Township, Mitchell County on May 10, 1884, the son of Gabriel and Anna Heggerusta Lunde. He spent most of his life on the farm of his parents. He was educated in the rural school near his home.
His marriage to Othilda Leverson of Osage took place on April 30, 1908. They continued to farm the Lunde family farm. He was a lifelong member of the Rock Creek Lutheran church and was baptized and confirmed there in his early years.
Surviving are his wife, Tilda; three sons, Gaylord and Herbert of rural Osage, and Arleigh on the family farm; seven grandsons, one granddaughter and two great grandchildren.
His parents, three brothers, one sister, and a son, Raymond, preceded him in death.
