OSAGE, IOWA -- Funeral rites will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart church for Michael Moran, 87, who died Saturday morning at his home is Osage. Burial will be in Sacred Heart cemetery.

He was born November 15, 1858 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of John and Julia (Ford) Moran. At the age of three he came with his family to Osage where he had since resided. He has the unusual record of having lived in Osage for an 84 year period in the same section of town.

On May 2, 1889, he married Mary Meehan of Stacyville and the couple made their home here. He followed the vocation of bricklayer and stone mason until advanced age prevented him continuing his work.

His parents died in 1898, ending his immediate family line, as he was the only child in the family.

In 1933 his daughter, Bonnie Wilhelm died, and in 1944 his wife preceded him in death, the couple having been wed then for 55 years.

Since her death, his sister-in-law, Mrs. Annie Murray has been housekeeper.

Surviving him are two daughters, Mrs. Laura Zizka, Howell, Michigan, and Mrs. Ray Cummings St. Ansgar; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
