Albert Tabbert
OSAGE, IOWA — Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Township, rural Osage, for Albert Tabbert, 91, of Osage.
He died Sunday (Dec. 13, 1987) at an Osage nursing home.
The Rev. Richard Zellmer will officiate and burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Rock Township, rural Osage. Visitation will be after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Champion Funeral Home, Osage.
Mr. Tabbert was born Dec. 4, 1896, in Rock Township, Mitchell County to Wilhelm and Friederike (Pahl) Tabbert. He attended rural Rock Township schools and was a veteran of World War I.
On June 14, 1922, he married Edna Schmidt at Grafton. The couple made their home on a farm in Rock Township where they farmed. Mr. Tabbert also had a repair shop on his farm, where he repaired machinery. Mrs. Tabbert died in 1980.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Evelyn) Lesch, Waterloo: a daughter-in-law, Kathryn Tabbert, Osage; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son, a granddaughter, two brothers and a sister.
