GRAFTON FARMER DIES AT 82;
RITES FRIDAYGRAFTON, IOWA - Emil Hackbart 82, a lifelong resident of this area, died Tuesday at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, Osage, following a stroke suffered Monday.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. carlton Rohr will officiate. Burial will be in the Grafton Cemetery with Champion Funeral Home, Osage, in charge.
Born near Carpenter, Mitchell County, October 30, 1877, he was the son of Ferdinand and Bertha Hackbart. The family moved while he was an infant to a farm south of Grafton where he lived until retiring to Grafton in 1949. He was married in 1920 to Alvina Wilke.
Surviving are his wife, three children; Mrs. Truman (Lorraine) Julseth, Northwood; Robert, on the home farm; Roger, Hamilton, Ohio; five grandchildren, three brothers, William, Grafton; Ferd, Plymouth; Gus, Owatonna, Minn.; a sister Miss Emma Hackbart, Osage. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances, two sisters, Lizzie and Mrs. Martha Kuehn, and a brother, Ed.
