Sharon A. Djuren

Sharon A. Djuren, age 68, of Mason City, died Monday, February 15, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa. Funeral services were held Friday, February 19, 2010 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 419 North Delaware with Rev. Mark Lavrenz officiating.

Interment was held in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation wase held Thursday February 18, 2010 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave.

Memorials may be directed to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Organ Fund.

Sharon was born October 13, 1941, in Osage, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Stella (Lutz) Wright. She graduated from Osage Schools. Sharon was married to Gordon Djuren on September 26, 1959. Gordon and Sharon have lived in rural Mason City for many years. Sharon had a passion for music and loved to play the organ. Sharon enjoyed spending time with all her family, and was especially fond of her grandchildren. She was a long-time member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she served as the organist and a member of the LWML. She also was a member of the F-100 Truck Club, American Guild of Organists, and the New Horizons Band. Sharon will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sharon is survived by her husband of fifty years, Gordon Djuren; children, Dave (Carol) Djuren of Mason City, Marie Djuren of Topeka, Kansas, Wanda (John) Goranson of Waukee, and Troy (Crystal) Djuren of Clear Lake; grandchildren, Travis (Jessi) Djuren of Des Moines, Jason Djuren of North Carolina, Crystal Djuren and fiancé David Smith of Alaska, and Jonna and James Goranson of Waukee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; uncle, Leonard Lutz; and daughter-in-law, Tracy Djuren.

Arrangements are with Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory.
