OBITUARY: Veleko Koeff 1886-1966

FUNERAL HELD FOR VELEKO KOEFF, 79 (1966)

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Baptist church in Osage for Veleko Koeff, 79, who died at Mercy Hospital in Mason City Friday. Mr. Koeff had undergone surgery March 23. (1966)

The Rev. Wesley Anderson, church pastor was in charge of the service. C. R. Champion and Sons made the arrangements and burial was in the Harlington cemetery at Waverly.

Veleko Koeff was born in Bulgaria Oct. 15, 1886, the son of Nick and Donna Petcoff Koeff. He came to the United States in 1925 and became a naturalized citizen in 1934.

His marriage to Nettie Keroff took place May 7, 1937, in Waverly. They came to the New Haven vicinity in 1938, and he farmed in that area.

Mr. Koeff was a member of the Baptist church in Osage and was affiliated with the Farm Bureau of Mitchell County.

Surviving are his wife, Nettie, their two sons, William and Tony; a brother Gus in Waterloo, one brother and three sisters in their homeland, and two granddaughters

He was preceded in death by his parents.

NOTES:
Found in 1940 census living in East Lincoln township, Mitchell county, Iowa. Veleko was living with his wife, Nettie N., son William J. and mother-in-law, Mary Keroff.
