Agnes Halbach Buch

Agnes Halbach Buch, 95, of Elgin, Illinois, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Provena Pineview Care Center, St. Charles.

She was born April 25, 1914 in Stacyville, Iowa the daughter of Pete and Mary Halbach. She has been a resident of Elgin since 1952. She was a graduate of St. Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester, Minnesota and worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin and the Elgin Mental Health Care Center before retiring.

She was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Elgin and a current member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin. She had been a volunteer with Provena St. Joseph Hospital and the Fox Valley Hospice.

Surviving are nine nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert, whom she married in 1941; a daughter, Mary; five brothers; and three sisters.

The family would like a special thank you to her caregiver, Aiste Kaniouskaite, who gave her so much loving care during her life.

Funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 11 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin. Burial was at Mount Hope Cemetery, Elgin. Visitation was held on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of mass in the church. Memorials may be given to the Stained Glass Window Fund at the church. Wait Ross Allanson Funeral & Cremation Services, Elgin is in charge of arrangements.
