Lloyd Carl Decklever [1911-1966]

Lloyd Carl Decklever, son of Amanda and William Decklever, was born December 7, 1911 in St. Ansgar. He grew up in St. Ansgar area and attended the Spring Valley rural school. Later he moved with his parents near Osage and attended the rural school south of Osage.

He was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran church in St. Ansgar April 13, 1930 by the Rev. Paul Brammer.

November 30, 1933 he was married to Agnes Tesch of Toeterville and three children were born to this union.

Mr. Decklever was engaged in farming after their marriage, then was employed by his brother, Lawrence in the Sand and Gravel, also the Squier Gravel Co. and the past three years had been employed by L. R. Falk Construction Co.

He died suddenly from a heart attack at his home in Osage on Sunday August 14, at the age of 54 years.

He is survived by his wife Agnes, one son, Melvin of Osage, two daughters, Mrs. John (Lorraine) Harlis of Minneapolis and Mrs. Harvey (Norma) Duncan of Denver, Colo., also six grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Clyde (Verna) Roehr and one brother, Lawrence Decklever of Osage. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 17, at Trinity Lutheran church in Osage with the Rev. Edward Lang officiating. Interment was in the Osage cemetery.

Pallbearers were Wayne Decklever, Glenn Decklever, Walter Reuhlow, Ronald Carter, Harold Rohne and Reuben Murphy.
