OBITUARY: Nettie (Johanson) Schoger, 1883-1971

Funeral rites are set for Friday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Nettie Shoger, 88, who died Tuesday, December 7, 1971 at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. She had been ill since suffering a stroke in April. Mrs. Shoger was a resident of Faith Lutheran Home.

The Rev. Donald Berg, church pastor will be in charge of the services at Rock Creek Lutheran Church. Arrangements are by C.R. Champion & Sons and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Nettie Johanson was born in Mitchell County, August 1, 1883, the daughter of Jens and Ingeborg Gulbrandson Johanson. She was baptized and confirmed at Rock Creek Church and grew to womanhood in that vicinity.

Cornelius Shoger and Nettie Johanson were united in marriage March 10, 1901. They farmed in the Rock Creek area, later moving to Osage. She was a life long member of the Rock Creek Lutheran Church.

Surviving are two sons, James Shoger of Nora Springs, Fred Shoger of Osage, twelve grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, one sister Mrs. Julius Anderson (Matilda) of Mason City.
