Irma Kuehl Adams 1916-1998

OSAGE, IOWA -- Irma Adams, 81, died Friday (May 1, 1998) at the Faith Home in Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage, with the Rev. Philip Recker officiating. Cremation will follow the service with interment in the St. Ansgar Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation is from 2:30 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Champion Funeral Home, Osage, with a rosary at 3 p.m. and a scripture service at 7:30 p.m.

Irma Adams was born July 11, 1916, in St. Ansgar, the daughter of August H. and Sophia (Miller) Kuehl. Irma grew up in the St. Ansgar area and attended school in St. Ansgar.

She married Albert N. Adams on July 21, 1934, at Stacyville. Irma and Albert moved to Osage in 1958. He died in 1994.

She loved to play the piano and the organ. She also loved going out with family and friends. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Sacred Heart Ladies Guild.

Irma is survived by four daughters, Dorothy Gerbig and husband, Melvin, of Osage, Rose Ellingson and husband, Sheryl, of Osage, Annette Anderson and husband, Kenneth, of Spring Valley, Minn., and Suzanne Krahn and husband, Ronald, of Mason City; one son, Alan Adams and wife, Cheryl, of Osage; 20 grand-children, 23 great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert; one sister, Arline Kuehl; and three brothers, Lloyd, Earl and Luvern.
