DEFRIEND, RODGERS, HEIMER

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Services for Mrs. Valentine DeFriend, 93, a former resident who died Sunday in Oelwein, Iowa, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Ansgar Catholic Church. A wake service will be held at 8:45 Wednesday night at Schroeder and Dunn Funeral Home, where friends may call after 7 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in the St. Ansgar City Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Heimer of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two sons, Francis of Chicago, and Rene of Mason City; and a brother, Edmond Rodgers of Chicago.

NOTES:

The obituary did not present either a birth date or a death date. The Social Security Death Index lists not one, but two Valentine DeFriends. And SSDI only lists 31 DeFriend's all together (as of this writing). Go figure!

2. VALENTINE DEFRIEND born 11 Apr 1883, died Mar 1977, residing at ZIP code 55429 (Minneapolis, Hennepin, MN), SSN 482-66-5525 issued in Iowa.

Logic would say that Valentine had two SSN's and both are really the same person.
