Serena Ellingson rites
set Monday at St. Ansgar

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Mrs. Serena Ellingson died at her home near Carpenter. Funeral services will be Monday at 2:00 P.M. at the Schroeder & Houg Funeral Chapel, St. Ansgar.

Surviving are a son, Benny, Carpenter, and a daughter, Mrs. A. J. Johnson, Austin, Minnesota.

Funeral services for Mrs. Serena Ellingson were held Monday afternoon at the Schroeder and Houg Funeral Chapel at St. Ansgar with the Rev. Henry Erickson in charge. Interment was in the Lutheran cemetery at St. Ansgar.

Mrs. Ellingson died at her farm home in Worth county near Carpenter Tuesday evening, February 20, 1962 at the age of 93. Her husband Elling Ellingson preceded her in death a number of years ago. She is survived by one son, Benny at home and one daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Johnston, (Emily) of Austin, and a large number of relatives and friends.

Mrs. Serena Ellingson was born April 21, 1868 at Washington Prairie, Iowa, the daughter of Even Knudtson and Gerhardine (Steile) Knudtson. She lived with her parents in the Washington Prairie area for a short while and then moved to this area near Carpenter. There were two sisters and seven brothers in her family.
