Funeral services for Lorry J. Rice, 65, of Cincinnati, Ohio, who died Monday, January 1, were held Monday, January 8 at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home here with the Rev. Stephen Engelstad officiating.
Mrs. Rice was born March 4, 1924 in Carpenter to Gunder and Barbara (Thorson) Ellingson. She was baptized at Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, and confirmed at First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar. She attended schools in Carpenter and St. Ansgar.
She attended nursing school, Rochester, Minnesota. She was a private duty nurse and was a friendly and compassionate one.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Mrs. Rice is survived by two sons, Gil Hazelwood of Sioux City and Richard Hazelwood of Burbank, South Dakota; four grandchildren; one brother, Glenn Ellingson of Ostrander, Minnesota; one sister, Grace Aase of Port Charlotte, Florida; and dear friend, Jack Skahan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Linda Fulbeck; two sisters and four brothers.
Burial was at the First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar.
