Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 18, 1988 at Morningside Memorial Gardens Chapel in Minneapolis, Minnesota for Lawrence J. DeMar, 78, of Osage, Iowa. Burial was in Morningside Memorial Gardens. He died on Friday, January 15, 1988 at his home.

Mr. DeMar was born on February 4, 1909 in Sioux Falls, S.D., to Chester and Evelyn (Coty) DeMar. He lived in the Sioux Falls, Des Moines and Lyle, Minnesota, areas.

On November 4, 1931 he married Mabel Dense in Meyer, Iowa. The couple moved to Minneapolis where they made their home until retiring to Osage in 1974. While living in Minneapolis, he was a custodian at the University of Minnesota.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel of Osage; four daughters: Mrs. Richard (Darlene) Zabel of Blaine, Minnesota, Mrs. LaVerne (Mary Lou) Nordness of Fargo, N.D., Mrs. Robert (Judy) Gates of Champlin, Minnesota, and Joyce Kotilinek of Vadnais Heights, Minnesota; two sons, Leslie of Minneapolis and Richard of Anoka, Minnesota; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Grace) Blume of Osseo, Minnesota, and Mrs. Leo (Opal) Andrews of Circle Pines, Minnesota; and a brother, Bernard of North Branch, Texas.
