DANIELSEN, DANIELSON, WIGER, JENSON

Mrs. John Danielsen, nee Inga Louise Wiger, was born in the Parish of Lier near Drammen, Norway, the 17th of January, 1860.

Her parents, Andreas L. Wiger and wife Andrine Jenson Wiger, were blessed with four children, Mrs. Danielsen being the oldest.

She was baptized and confirmed by her pastor, Fredrick Wilhelm Rodhe in the Lutheran church at her birth place. At the age of eighteen she took up domestic science at Drammen and later served as chef and manager at some of the largest hotels in Kristiania and Drammen. Mrs. Danielsen continued in this business until 1897 when she emigrated to the United States and came to Red Wing, Minnesota. She remained at Red Wing until the fall of 1898, when she came to stay with her brother, John Wiger, in Newburg Township, Mitchell County, Iowa.

At her brother's place she was married by Rev. J. Olson to Mr. John Danielsen, on December 18, 1901. They moved to Lyle, Minnesota, soon after and lived there for part of a year. Later Mr. and Mrs. Danielsen took up farming and continued in this work until about three years ago when her health began to fail. They then moved to St. Ansgar which has since been their home.

Mr. and Mrs. Danielsen's married life was blessed with one child, Cassel Danielsen.

Mrs. Danielsen was 64 years, 2 months and 18 days of age at the time of her death, which occurred at 1:50 a.m., April 4th, 1924.

She is survived by her husband, John Danielsen, and her son, Cassel Danielsen, and her only brother, John Wiger of this city. Both of her aged parents are still living in Norway as are two sisters, a niece and three nephews who remain to mourn her departure from this vale of sorrow to a better home with Jesus, in whom she confidently trusted. She joyfully professed Christ as her personal Savior and at her last communion, the day before her death, she trustingly resigned herself and her entire future into her Savior's hands.

The funeral was conducted by her pastor, Rev. M.E. Waldeland, at the First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, on Sunday morning, April 6th in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends.

Present at the funeral from away were, Mrs. O. Reierson, Fort Dodge, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. W. Reierson, Mrs. A. Johnson, Minneapolis, Minneosta.
