Osage, Iowa - Funeral rites will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Champion Funeral Home for Carrie Ruth Towner, 67, who died Saturday at a Mason City convalescent home. Burial in Osage Cemetery.

TOWNER SERVICES AT OSAGE ON TUESDAY

OSAGE, IOWA – Funeral services will be here Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. for Mrs. Carrie Towner, 67, who died in a Mason City, Iowa, convalescent home Saturday at 7 p.m.

She was born on October 26, 1880, near Little Cedar, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Martha Leeman. She spent her childhood there, and later moved to Osage where she was married to Jay Towner in 1899.

They lived in Osage and then moved to a farm near Little Cedar where they lived until 1920 when they moved to Charles City. Towner died there in 1939.

Mrs. Towner returned to Osage in 1941 where she lived until March 1947, when she entered the convalescent home at Mason City.

Survivors include two sons, Fay, of Minneapolis, Minn.; and Bert, of San Bernardino, Cal., three sisters; Mrs. John Bowers, Osage; Mrs. John Tune, Chicago; and Mrs. Ella Patrick, North Dakota. Also surviving is one brother, Bert of Portland, Ore., and three grandchildren.

Two sons, one sister, and three brothers preceded her in death.
