Funeral services for Iver A. Dahl were held this afternoon (Thursday) October 21 at the First Lutheran Church at two o'clock. Rev. Olaf A. Langehough officiated.
Iver Anton Dahl, son of Halvor K. Dahl was born March 28, 1888, St. Ansgar, Iowa and died at the Cedar Valley Hospital in Charles City, October 18, 1948 at the age of 60 years, 6 months and 18 days. He was baptized by the Rev. J. Olson, April 29, 1888 and confirmed by the Rev. S. Olson September 29, 1901.
September 6, 1911 he was maried to Maria Halvorson and to this union two chidren were born, Harley Alvin, who died in infancy and a daughter, Mrs. Derald Cowell of St. Ansgar.
The deceased had been in failing health for the past few years and was taken seriously ill, October 10. He was rushed to the hospital where he was operated on immediately for a serious case of ruptured ulcers. He seemed to be recovering satisfactorily until October 18, when he took a turn for the worse and passed away before the family could reach his bedside. Death being caused by some unknown reason. He has lived in the St. Ansgar community all his life, living at the present location for the past 29 years. He worked at various jobs, the last being night man at the Cedar Valley Produce Company.
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Derald Cowell, his aged father, one granddaughter, a sister, Mrs. William Groth, two brothers, Carl of St. Ansgar and Elmer of Chicago and many relatives and friends.
His illness was marked by his consideration for others and without complaint.
Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery.
