Funeral services were held Friday, August 9, 1996 at First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, for Floyd L. Dahlke, 83, of Osage. Reverend Robert Porisch officiated and burial was in the First Lutheran Cemetery with military rites at the grave by St. Ansgar Legion Post 358. Champion Funeral Home, Osage, was in charge of arrangements. He died Monday, August 5, 1996 at his home.

Floyd was born January 12, 1913 at Stone Lake, WI the son of Frank and Bertha Snyder Dahlke. He grew up in northern Wisconsin and worked as a lumberjack. He moved to the Austin, MN area and was employed by Streveling Dairy. Floyd married Elinor Strouf on March 7, 1940 at Northwood, IA. He served in the U.S. Army in the Philipines during World War II. Following his military service, Floyd worked as a carpenter, a farmer and as custodian at the St. Ansgar Elementary School until his retirement. He moved from St. Ansgar to Osage in 1989.

Mr. Dahlke was a member of First Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post 358 in St. Ansgar.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and his family.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Frank Dahlke; two sisters, Clara Schwandt and Esther Simmons; and an infant sister and infant brother.

Survivors include his wife, Elinor of Osage; three daughters, Bertha Moravec and husband, Alvis of Owatonna, MN, Barbara Strain and husband, Eugene of Kasson, MN, Kathryn Dahlke of Osage; one son, LeRoy Dahlke and wife, Janet of Riceville; two brothers, Carl Dahlke of Dallas, WI and Edward Dahlke of Tomah, WI; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
