WIFE OF IMMANUEL LUTHERAN PASTOR EICKELBERG
Edith H. Eickelberg, 77, of Center Point, died Wednesday afternoon in St. Luke's Hospital following a long illness. Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, St. John Lutheran Church, Center Point. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Murdoch Funeral Home, Center Point.
Survivors include her husband, Theodore; three daughters, Lois Francis of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Barbara Bowdish of Marion and Mary Ausen of Alexandria, Minn.; a son, Frederick of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a brother, Leslie Kuhlmann of St. Louis; and a sister, Alicia Ahrens of St. Louis. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter.
Born the daughter of Charles and Amelia Franke Kuhlmann on October 8, 1913, in St. Louis, she married the Rev. Theodore Eickelberg there on Aug. 7, 1935. A longtime resident of Center Point, Mrs. Eickelberg was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and various church groups.
Lunch will be served at noon at the church, and friends are invited.
The casket will not be open at the church. The Rev. David Hansen will officiate. Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Hospice.
