Funeral services for Carl M. Golberg, 95, who died at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center April 21, were held April 24 at Schroeder and Dunn Funeral Home here with the Rev. Stephen Engelstad, pastor of First Lutheran church officiating.

Carl Martin Golberg, son of Colbern N. and Martha R. (Peterson) Golberg, was born May 10, 1882 on a farm southwest of Carpenter where he grew to manhood. He was baptized in infancy at Deer Creek Lutheran Church near Carpenter, and confirmed in that church December 19, 1900 by the Rev. Johan Olsen.

He married Anna Gaarder of Osage December 16, 1914. They established their home in Carpenter where they owned and operated a general hardware store for 33 years. They retired from their business in 1948, and upon retirement moved to Mason City to make their home.

Mrs. Golberg died August 7, 1962. Mr. Golberg then moved to St. Ansgar where he had since resided.

Mr. Golberg is survived by nieces and nephews, and one sister-in-law, Minnie Golberg of Sandstone, Minn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna, his parents and four brothers.

Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Engelstad in charge of committal services.
