Funeral services for Mrs. Therese L. Kroneman, 83, who died at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center Monday, August 22, were held Wednesday, August 24 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Township, with the Rev. Richard Zellmer officiating.
Therese Laura Elise Kirchgatter was born May 25, 1894 in Barton township, Worth County, the eldest daughter of Henry C. and Therese (Jadicka) Kirchgatter. She was baptized July 22, 1894 by the Rev. C. Ide in Carpenter and confirmed on April 5, 1908 by the Rev. F. Landeck in the Evangelical Lutheran church in Grafton. She grew up on a farm near Carpenter and attended school there.
February 8, 1920 she became the wife of Arthur W. Kroneman at the Evangelical church in Grafton with the Rev. C. Landeck officiating. They settled on a farm southwest of St. Ansgar. Four daughters and one son were born to them: Dorothea, Raymond, Wanda Margaret and Irene. They remained on the farm until the early 1950's at which time they moved to St. Ansgar.
Mr. Kroneman died May 5, 1961 and August 5, 1966 Mrs. Kroneman became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center here. Mrs. Kroneman had been a member of St. John's Lutheran Church all her married life, although she had been unable to attend services in recent years. Mrs. Kroneman fell a short time ago and sustained a fractured hip.
Survivors include her son, raymond, Osage; three daughters, Mrs. Dwight H. (Wanda) Crom of Northwood; Mrs. Roy (Margaret) Koschmeder of Osage; Mrs. Neil (Irene) Beard of Santa Fe, N.M.; also three sisters, Mrs. Eddie (Ella) Rosenberg of Grafton; Mrs. Lawrence (Rose) Borchardt of Carpenter and Mrs. William (Dorothy) Greiner of St. Ansgar; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Kroneman was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur, and one daughter, Dorothea as well as several grandchildren.
Burial was in St. John's Lutheran cemetery with the Rev. Zellmer in charge of committal services.
