Rites held for Mrs. L. Hartwig
Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Hartwig, 82, were held last Tuesday, at Immanuel Lutheran church in St. Ansgar with the Rev. Norman Betke in charge. Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran cemetery with Schroeder and Dunn making the arrangements. Mrs. Hartwig died Feb. 21, [1975] at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center in St. Ansgar.
Louise Johanna Ruebe, daughter of Bertha Hollatz and Carl Ruebe, was born Dec. 7, 1892, in Mitchell county. She was baptized Jan. 24, 1893, at Immanuel Lutheran church, and was confirmed on March 24, 1907.
On March 14, 1911 she was united in marriage to Herman Hartwig in Otranto. They lived on a farm west of St. Ansgar until 1945 when they returned to St. Ansgar.
Mrs. Hartwig was a life long member of Immanuel Lutheran church and was a member of the Esther circle.
In June, 1973 she became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center where she continued to live.
Mrs. Hartwig was preceded in death by her husband, Herman on April 7, 1964; her daugher, Ruth on August 8, 1958; two sisters, Emma Kuehl and Meta Kroneman, and two infant brothers.
Survivors include her son, Harold Hartwig of Mason City; three grandsons and one granddaughter; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, William Ruebe, a resident at the Good Samaritan Center; one niece and two nephews.
