Rites Tuesday for
Minister at St. AnsgarST. ANSGAR, IOWA — Funeral services for the Rev. Herman C. Wolters, 50, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. He died here Thursday. Burial will be at Concordia, Missouri, where he was born and where he was graduated from St. Paul's College and Concordia Seminary.
Survivors include six sons and daughters, Shirley of Charles City, Paul and Carl in the armed forces and Ruth, John and Ann at St. Ansgar.
Mr. Wolters, a pastor since 1927, had served pastorates in Canada, Missouri and Nebraska, coming to Luzerne, Iowa in 1944, and to St. Ansgar in 1949. Mr. Wolters was president of the board of directors of the Lutheran Home for the Aged at Vinton and visitor for the St. Ansgar circuit Iowa district east of the Lutheran Church, Missouri synod.

Rev. Herman Wolter served as pastor at St. Ansgar 1949 - 1953
Rev. Herman Wolters, a St. Louis Concordia Seminary graduate, accepted the call to St. Ansgar on November 20, 1949. He had vicared in Montana previous to his final year at the seminary. His ordination took place at Ogema, Saskatchewan, Canada and his pastorates included Ogema, Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada; Cole Camp, Missouri; Fall City, Nebraska; Luzerne, Iowa; and St. Ansgar, Iowa.
The Christmas programs put on during his stay were planned by him and the final questioning of the catechumens was conducted with no guide book. He served as Visitor of the Cedar Rapids Circuit of Iowa District East and of the St. Ansgar Circuit and Chairman of the Board of the Lutheran Home for the Aged at Vinton, Iowa. He died suddenly December 17, 1953.

AFFIDAVIT: Feb. 1954.
I, Anna J. Wolters, being first duly sworn on oath depose and say that I am a resident of St. Ansgar, Mitchell County, Iowa, and am the widow of the Rev. Herman Claude Wolters, deceased who died on December 17, 1953; that he left no Last Will and Testament; that his estate has not been probated and no proceedings are contemplated.
That at his death he was the legal owner of a 1951 Dodge 4-door Sedan automobile, Factory No.31797879, Motor No. D42-175630, bearing 1953 Iowa Registration No. 66-426.
That the following are the children who survived decedent and who together with the undersigned constitute his sole heirs at law: Shirley Ann Wolters, age 23, Charles City, Iowa; Paul Edward Wolters, age 20 St. Ansgar, Iowa; Carl Frederick Wolters, age 18, St. Ansgar, Iowa; Ruth Eunice Wolters, age 17, St. Ansgar, Iowa; John Henry Wolters, age 16, St. Ansgar, Iowa; Ann Elaine Wolters, age 13, St. Angar, Iowa.
That the occupation of decedent was that of a pastor; that said automobile was used regularly in his work and was exempt property in his hands under the laws of Iowa and the undersigned is entitled to the same as exempt property as the surviving widow.
The undersigned respectfully asks that the Treasurer of Mitchell County, Iowa, transfer the title to said automobile to her, the said Anna J. Wolters.
The said automobile is free and clear of any liens and encumbrances.
That when said automobile is transferred to the undersigned she will thereafter hold said County Treasurer of Mitchell County, Iowa, free from any claims made by any persons.
