Stroke proves fatal to well known resident last Friday evening.

Last rites were conducted for Mrs. George N. Colbertson from the First Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with the Rev. Olaf A. Langehough in charge. Interment was in the Evergreen cemetery.

Death came suddenly and unexpectedly to Mrs. Colbertson Friday evening, January 27, following a stroke a few hours earlier.

Ann Margaret Culmsee was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, on June 25, 1872. Her parents were Ferdinand and Fredricka Culmsee. At the age of nine months she moved with her parents to Stavanger, Norway. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the age of 13 years.

In 1888 the family came to the United States, settling at Decorah, Iowa, near Luther college. On February 4, 1898, she was united in marriage to George N. Colbertson. To this union five children were born, the three youngest died in infancy.

Her entire married life was spent in St. Ansgar with the exception of a few months when they lived in North Dakota.

Mrs. Colbertson had been in failing health for many years, but was always cheerful. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. One of her greatest joys was in doing kind deeds for those she found in need.

Friday morning, January 27, she suffered a stroke and passed away peacefully that same evening.

She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Franke Rainey and Mrs. Grace Hansen; nine grandchildren, seven nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Services were conducted from the home at 1:45, Tuesday.
